Dear Friend,

Welcome to another Music on Earth newsletter.

Classic Guitar:-

Very Good News … our 2nd award-winning Music on Earth Special Edition DVD: 'Julian Bream - My Life in Music' has been re-issued by AVIE and will be available again from our site in the next couple of weeks.  Please check out www.musiconearth.co.uk

The Ida Presti DVD, which many of you still ask about, is still on the back-burner – sadly no one is prepared to fund it.  There’s a possibility that it may qualify for some future EU Media Commission funding but we’ll have to wait and see.

Fender Stratocaster News:-

We’ve had a busy few months – Paul (Balmer) has completed his second book ‘The Haynes Workshop Manual for the Fender Stratocaster’.  A new venture for Haynes (which many of you – especially in the UK – will know for their excellent car manuals). They couldn’t have picked a better person to write this.  Paul has been playing a Strat since 1962 and currently owns a 1957 (‘repro’ … but it sounds great).  We hope to offer this book for sale on our site soon – negotiations are still under way.

 Electric Guitar News:-

Our sister company e-tv have just completed a DVD for a wonderful book published by Backbeat Books – ‘The Totally Interactive Guitar Bible’.  The package consists of a ‘facts and figures’ book with superb photos, a guitar tutor, a CD and a DVD.  Because of the weight of this we will not be selling this on our site – it’s approx. 2 Kg but you should be able to purchase it at your local book store.  Please let us know if you have difficulty obtaining it.

James Galway:-

The EU Media Commission have given us a small development grant to start work on a DVD about Sir James Galway.  We have been talking to James for about a year hope to start this project early next year although it won’t be complete until 2008.  Alongside this Paul has been asked to work with Sir James’ to update his autobiography.  This will be Paul’s 3rd book.

Stephane Grappelli:-

A Life in the Jazz Century’ This is still selling well but stocks are getting low.  So, if you’ve not already got a copy and you’d like one please buy one soon.

Low stocks is also the buzz work on Paul’s official biography of Stephane ‘With and Without Django’. Some of you may know that Sanctuary Publishing (the original publishers) no longer exist.  There are still copies out there but were not sure for how long the new distributor will keep it in their catalogue.  So again, if you want a copy best to get it sooner rather than later.

Well, I think that is about it.  Thanks to all of you for your continued support and interest in our work.

Very best wishes,

Judy Caine and Paul Balmer
